Purac has won unanimous praise and trust from the clients with its stable and reliable anaerobic technology and many years of successful experience in kitchen waste treatment. After the implementation of the garbage classification policy, Purac has successively won contracts for more than ten kitchen waste anaerobic treatment projects, including Xiong'an, Shanghai, Wuxi, Nanjing, Tianjin, Chongqing etc.

PURAC has successfully implemented many cases in the field of sewage sludge anaerobic digestion. In 2012, we designed and constructed the sludge digestion project of Pantai 320,000 tons/day sewage treatment plant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is a representative of the sludge treatment project along the Belt and Road. In 2015, we undertook the design and construction of five sludge disposal centers in Beijing Gaobeidian, Xiaohongmen, Qinghe, Huaifang and Gaoantun, which adopted the advanced anaerobic treatment process of THP + anaerobic digestion to treat 6,128 tons of sludge per day (with 20% of solid content).

PURAC can provide customers with municipal sewage treatment system solutions, and customize efficient and economical sewage treatment process route according to customer needs. By the end of 2023, PURAC has completed 19 municipal sewage treatment projects in China, with a total capacity of 2.33 million tons/day.

By the end of 2023, PURAC has carried out 51 industrial wastewater treatment projects in China, covering different fields such as pulp & paper, food yeast, textile printing & dyeing, pharmaceutical, chemical and metallurgy, etc., and the stable technical level and high-quality service have been highly recognized by customers, and therefore obtained renewal contracts of many projects.

In addition to municipal organic waste, Purac had rich experience in the treatment of agricultural and industrial organic waste. Based on years of design, construction, and operation experience, Purac recommends a variety of organic waste co-digestion anaerobic treatment technology. It is suggested to treat kitchen waste, food waste, sewage sludge, straw, manure, and expired food waste in a centralized and unified manner. This can not only exert the economies of scale of the treatment facilities but also help to achieve a balanced nutrition of the fermentation substrate, increase the methane yield of anaerobic co-digestion, and improve the output of green energy.

The reject water produced in the organic waste anaerobic digestion is not only has high content of COD, NH4-N and SS, but also contains organic matter that is difficult to biodegrade such as oil, and needs complex treatment process to meet the discharge requirements. After years of exploration and practice, PURAC has developed the SDN-N process on the basis of the SBR process, which realizes the functions of synchronous nitrification (N) and denitrification (DN), and combines with the MTS jet aeration system to ensure good treatment effect. After SDN-N treatment process combined with different advanced treatment technologies such as clarification, ultrafiltration, or nanofiltration, the effluent can meet the wastewater quality standards for discharge to municipal sewers, or other stricter discharge standards. The advantages of SDN-N process are simple system, less maintenance and low operation costs, which is especially suitable for the treatment of reject water from organic waste anaerobic digestion, and wastewater with high COD and high nitrogen.
