The first semi-underground large-scale anaerobic project in China will be built by Purac for Xiong'an New Area

In August 2020, Purac signed the contract with Everbright Environmental Protection (China) Limited Company for organic waste anaerobic treatment project of Xiong'an New Area comprehensive waste treatment facility phase I. The project adopted Purac ANAMET thermophilic anaerobic system, and the capacity of phase I is 600 t/d (150 t/d of restaurant waste, 150t/d of household waste, 300 t/d of manure, and designed biogas production is 30,000m3/d). The capacity of phase II project is 600 t/d (300 t/d of restaurant waste and 300 t/d of manure).

The project is located in the southeast of Xiong'an New Area, south of Mawutou Village, Longwan Town, and is the first comprehensive waste treatment project in Xiong'an New Area, jointly invested by China Xiong'an Group Ecological Construction Investment Co., Ltd. and China Everbright International Co., Ltd., and designed by China ENFI Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.

The project adopts a semi-underground "de-industrialization" design, the above-ground part is mainly for the management area, leisure and entertainment area, and landscape area, and the underground part is mainly for the plant area. The entire waste treatment facility is hidden in the suburbs to create a landscape and realize the harmonious coexistence of the industrial function and the surrounding environment.

After the completion of the project, it will provide a guarantee for improving the quality of the ecological environment in Xiong'an New Area, and lay a foundation for promoting the construction of a "zero-waste city" and garbage classification.

The anaerobic system will be built in semi-underground indoors, so the safety, stability and deodorization of the anaerobic system are extremely high.
