Malmö Sjolunda Sewage Treatment Plant sludge treatment project,Sweden
The treatment capacity of sewage plant is
200,000 tons per day and the plant was put into operation in 2010. Its
facilities include sludge treatment, biogas production and sludge dewatering
system, setting two anaerobic reaction tanks with 4,000m³ volume each for
sludge anaerobic treatment. Purac provides wastewater treatment equipment,
anaerobic digestion reaction tanks and sludge dewatering equipment, and is also
responsible for the process design of the peak flow treatment section and the
construction of sedimentation tanks.
This project is designed for fully recovering energy from sludge and wastewater. The biogas generated from anaerobic treatment is used for heating and power generation, while the heat from wastewater is transferred to Malmö's district heating system through heat pump stations.
