Changsha Restaurant Waste Treatment Project (Phase I + Phase II)
Project Overview:
Raw Material and Scale: Restaurant waste 800 t/d (Phase I + Phase II)
Biogas Production: 55,000-60,000 m³/d
Use of Biogas: power generation
Start-up Time: Phase I in 2014, Phase II in 2018
Purac Scope: Anaerobic system + wastewater treatment system
The Phase I and Phase II of Changsha Restaurant Waste Treatment Project, both using Purac's ANAMET® thermophilic anaerobic treatment process, with a designed biogas production of 40,000 m³/d. The actual gas production has reached 55,000-60,000 m³/d, exceeding the designed value, and the biogas is used for power generation. After anaerobic digestion, the effluent is further treated biologically and deeply to meet the discharge standards. Phase I has been in operation since the end of 2014, and the overall operation has been very stable.
Due to the good operational performance of Phase I, in 2017, the customer signed a contract with Purac for the "Changsha Restaurant Waste Treatment Project Phase II Anaerobic System Expansion". Phase II still uses Purac's ANAMET® thermophilic anaerobic process and has been successfully operational since 2018. The successful operation of Phase I and Phase II once again verified the advantages of Purac's ANAMET® anaerobic process, such as high organic matter conversion rate and stable operation. Purac's anaerobic system and sewage treatment system have achieved lower operating costs while ensuring the requirements for discharge indicators and stability, which has been praised by the owner.
Implementation Effect:
The stable operation of the Changsha Restaurant Waste treatment project has effectively solved the harm of unregulated collection and treatment of Restaurant Waste in Changsha, and put an end to the impact of "gutter oil, swill oil" flowing back to the dining table on the health of citizens. It has promoted the construction of a "two-oriented society" and a "food safety city" in Changsha, consolidated the achievements of the creation of a civilized city.
