Xiamen restaurant waste treatment project consists of two phases. Phase I has a treatment capacity of 150 t/d and uses the mesophilic anaerobic process, equipped with a 5,400 m³ anaerobic tank. The biogas produced is used for power generation. Purac provided design consultation and supply of the anaerobic system, and the project started operation in 2014. In 2017, began to build Phase II of the project, with a treatment capacity of 350 t/d, equipped with an 11,000 m³ anaerobic tank, and mesophilic anaerobic fermentation. It started operation in 2018, with a total biogas production of 34,000 m³/d from two phases. This project is the first restaurant waste treatment project in Xiamen.
